Heritage Healthcare is celebrating their fantastic results following their company-owned office’s recent inspection from the Care Quality Commission.
Heritage Healthcare North East helps people living in Darlington, Stockton, Middlesbrough and Redcar and Cleveland to remain living independently within their own homes for longer.
Led by Registered Care Manager, Lisa Glass, the care provider recently underwent their regular Care Quality Commission inspection, who ensure care providers are meeting the legal requirements and regulations of providing personal care to clients. CQC also assess the quality of the service provided to the clients and to award the service with an official rating.
Five key areas are focused on during the inspection; is the service safe? Is the service effective? Is the service caring? Is the service responsive? And is the service well-led? The inspector spoke to a number of Heritage Healthcare’s clients and carers to gain an overall insight into the company.
The CQC inspection led to Heritage Healthcare North East receiving a ‘Good’ rating in all five areas.
Heritage Healthcare Director, Glenn Pickersgill, said: “Lisa and the team have worked tirelessly to improve every area of the company this year and I am delighted that we have seen a vast improvement in all areas.”
Heritage Healthcare launched in 2008 with the first home care office in Redcar and Cleveland. A further three branches were opened, providing high-quality home care to Darlington, Teesside and York. The success of these care offices led the provider to launch into the franchise industry in 2013 and currently has 20 care offices across the UK, with the majority also achieving a ‘Good’ rating from CQC.
The end of 2018 saw the care offices in Middlesbrough and Darlington combine into one, creating Heritage Healthcare North East. This is the first inspection for the office following the merge.
The CQC report reflected on the safety of the service provided, with one client stating, “My care worker is reliable and stays the full amount of time, if they finish early, we then have a chat, best part of my day”. The care team were also considered during the inspection, with one staff member saying, “there’s plenty of training and if you’re interested in other courses you ask management and they’ll sort it for you.”
“My team and I are constantly striving to improve to ensure a high-quality service is provided to all people who use the service,” said Registered Care Manager, Lisa Glass. “I am delighted with the recent rating of ‘Good’ in all five key areas. This reflects the hard work and dedication of the Heritage Healthcare team, from management to care staff. We will endeavour to maintain the high standard of care we currently provide.”
